Army Capt. Jennifer M. Moreno, known as Jenny, was a dedicated and compassionate individual who chose a path of service to her nation. She served as a nurse, part of the Army Special Operations Command in the United States Army and was tragically taken from us in the line of duty.

On October 5, 2013, Captain Moreno tragically lost her life during a Special Operations raid in the Zhari District of Afghanistan. The mission took a devastating turn when a suicide bomber ambushed the army team inside a compound. In the midst of chaos and danger, and despite the threat of further explosions, Moreno made the courageous decision not to adhere to standby protocols. Instead, she selflessly provided vital medical aid to a fellow soldier who was trapped nearby. Tragically, her brave act set off another improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in her untimely passing at the young age of 25. 

Jenny's unwavering commitment to her country and her fellow soldiers is commemorated through the Jenny CrossFit Hero Workout.
